Before you start
You do not need an inventory sheet or a scale ticket. You need the tags. The photograph that moves a quote forward fastest is a clear shot of the reel tag, followed by the print on the jacket and the cut ends of the conductor.
Write down what you can see on each reel: type, size, voltage, conductor count, and roughly how many feet are left. If three reels are identical, say so once and give us the count. If a reel is damaged, say that too; it changes the number and we would rather know now.
Useful photos, in order
- The reel tag, square on and readable, with the footage marking visible.
- The jacket legend, the printed line running along the cable.
- The conductor ends, so we can confirm copper or aluminum and the stranding.
- A wider shot of the reel or stack, so we can judge diameter and remaining length.
